Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Summary

This is an opportunity for an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a dynamic team in an ambulatory surgery setting. The position requires strong clinical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the operating room.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Participate in patient assessments and ensure compliance with clinical protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records for all patients.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines.

Shifts and Scheduling

• Scheduled for 8-hour day shifts.
• Work a combination of 4 days one week and 5 days the following week, totaling 36 guaranteed hours per week.
• Modified self-scheduling allowing for preference in shift selection.
• No on-call, weekend, or holiday requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room setting.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Experience with orthopedic procedures such as total joints, scopes, fractures, and podiatry preferred.

Department Overview

• Join a team in a well-equipped operating room with 10 surgical suites and 2 procedure rooms.
• Average of 40-50 cases performed daily, including orthopedic, ENT, and ophthalmology procedures.
• Staff will have opportunities for learning and collaboration, especially in shared cases with inpatient settings as needed.

Orientation and Training

A comprehensive orientation process ranging from 3 to 5 days will be provided to ensure new staff members are well-prepared for their roles.

Dress Code

Scrubs will be provided for all staff members.
