Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

The Stepdown Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients transitioning from higher levels of care. This position involves monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and coordinating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.

Shift Information

• Shift: 3×12 Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Flexibility to accommodate 1:4 ratio, with potential adjustment to 1:5 ratio during emergencies
• Work schedule includes weekdays and some weekends

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Stepdown unit
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient health status
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy
• Perform telemetry and interpret strips accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and their families regarding recovery processes and care protocols

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BCLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
• A minimum of 1.5-2 years of nursing experience
• At least 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Stepdown nursing
• Ability to read telemetry strips proficiently

Additional Information

• Ability to accommodate holiday requests limited to 2 of the 4 major holidays
• Blocked weekend schedules may be considered (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon)
• Scrubs provided in designated colors (burgundy and/or white)
• EMR system utilized: Cerner
