Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room works collaboratively with other health care team members to deliver quality patient care. This role involves planning and implementing patient and family education, assessing patient needs, and initiating appropriate interventions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing or Associate’s degree
  • Montana Licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Minimum of 18 months of experience as a Registered Nurse

Preferred:

  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
  • 1 year of circulating experience
  • 1 year of scrub experience

  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation (Assessment)
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)
  • Identify expected outcomes and develop individualized care plans (Plan of Care)
  • Implement identified care plans and strategies
  • Promote health and maintain a safe environment
  • Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
  • Maintain knowledge and competency in current nursing practices
  • Evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards
  • Engage in the professional development of peers and colleagues
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and others throughout nursing practice
  • Integrate ethical provisions and research findings into practice
  • Provide leadership within the professional setting

Stroke Competency

  • Adhere to policies and protocols related to hyperacute and acute stroke care
  • Participate in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease education within the first year of hire
  • Complete one hour annually of cerebrovascular disease education

Additional Information

This position requires flexibility to cover all shifts and provide holiday coverage as needed.
