MRI Technologist
The MRI Technologist will perform a wide range of routine and advanced imaging procedures while ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow. The Technologist will provide support to other imaging staff as necessary and must demonstrate flexibility by working at different campuses and shifts as required. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment maintenance, participating in quality assurance (QA), and resolving image processing and archiving system issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all imaging procedures effectively while meeting organizational competencies and compliance with established standards.
- Support staff growth and development by collaborating with management, coworkers, and physicians to foster an optimal work environment.
- Enhance physician satisfaction through meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and ensure compliance with all relevant privacy policies.
- Adapt patient assessments and care methods to meet the unique needs of each patient served.
- Conduct MRI screenings of patients and employees, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform examinations and procedures to assist in patient throughput as required.
- Ensure accurate scanning and storage of completed exams in the PACS system, and report any issues to the PACS administrator or designated personnel.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and follow up with appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance technical and safety knowledge within the scope of licensure.
- Demonstrate reliability and professionalism in all aspects of the role, including attire, attendance, and communication.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an equivalent educational program.
- Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience preferred; experience in a clinical or hospital setting is advantageous.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- ARRT certification in MRI is required.
- State Licensure is necessary if practice is in New Mexico.
- MRT certification by MIRTP NMED is required.
- BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association is required.
Work Schedule:
3 Days – 12 Hours, including weekend shifts.
Additional Information:
This position may require floating to multiple locations within the region as needed.
