Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) traveler to support our ongoing Emergency Department (ED) boarding needs. This position offers flexibility in scheduling, with options for 3×12 shifts on a day/night rotation or straight night shifts.

Position Overview

The Medical Surgical RN will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department. You will play a critical role in patient assessment, treatment, and support during a time of increased demand on healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards and protocols.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and monitor progress, responding to bedside changes efficiently.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist in the management of ED boarding needs, providing care for patients awaiting admission.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and health management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license.
• Proven experience in a Medical Surgical nursing role; previous experience in an ED setting is preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
• Willingness to work during high-demand periods and adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.

Schedule

This position includes a 3×12 day/night rotation, with 4-week intervals for each shift type, or straight night shifts. Orientation for new travelers is scheduled for the week of December 14.

Candidates must be comfortable working during an ongoing RN strike and ready to support essential healthcare services during a challenging time.
