Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Join a dynamic team in a 65-bed Emergency Department that operates with a pod-based approach, featuring separate pediatric areas and an Acute Mental Health section. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and manage a high census of approximately 230 visits per day.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications, initiate IV lines, and conduct phlebotomy as needed.
• Monitor and interpret EKGs and cardiac rhythms.
• Conduct point of care testing and provide effective patient education.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Provide splinting and other emergency care interventions.
• Float to the ED Observation Wing and Acute Mental Health Unit as required.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility with rotating shifts, including Day Rotate (7 AM – 7 PM, 11 AM – 11 PM, and 7 PM – 7 AM) based on department needs. Weekend shifts are expected every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Nursing.
• Strong general ED nursing skills, including assessment, documentation, and patient care.
• Required certifications: AHA Certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Preferred certifications: NRP and TNCC.

Patient Care Environment

The role involves a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:4, focusing on a varied patient population, ensuring high-quality care and safety in a fast-paced environment.
