PICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Details

We are seeking a skilled PICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on critical care for pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
• Manage patient assignments with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
• Utilize advanced knowledge in critical care procedures including CRRT and ECMO.
• Administer inotropic drips and monitor patients on ventilators.
• Contribute to a collaborative healthcare team, floating to the NICU as required and optionally to the Pediatric ED for admitted patient assignments.

Shifts and Scheduling

• Shifts are rotating; candidates are expected to work both day and night shifts during their contract.
• Full-time contracted hours are 36 hours per week, with guaranteed scheduling flexibility.
• Weekend requirements include 4 shifts per schedule for day shift and 5 for night shift, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday considered weekend days.
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in pediatrics or critical care nursing.
• BLS and PALS certifications are required.
• Active nursing license in the state of practice.
• Flu shot is required.

Special Requirements

• Ability to care for and manage two intubated patients when necessary.
• Experience with a range of patient diagnoses including respiratory distress, renal failure, trauma, and multi-system organ failure is beneficial.
