Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing comprehensive patient care on a Med Surg unit, ensuring the highest level of support and attention to detail for our patients.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical Surgical
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Nurse Aides available on the unit
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating between units may be required

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the following:

• Providing high-quality patient care in the Med Surg unit.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Managing IV therapy and performing assessments on a variety of patients.
• Assisting with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Documenting patient progress and changes in EMR (Meditech).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience.
• Must have at least 1 travel assignment experience.
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS.
• Ability to adapt to changing assignments throughout the shift.

Additional Information

• Common diagnoses/treatment areas include Ortho, Neuro, Oncology, and Acute Care.
• Telemetry monitoring is available on various units.
• Pharmacy and respiratory therapy services are available 24/7.
• Floor-specific orientation will be provided.
• Scrub color: Caribbean Blue.
