Registered Nurse (RN) – Specialty Clinic

Job Description

Join our Specialty Clinic team! We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced medical professional to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities include patient assessment, triage, education, and care coordination.

Anticipated Schedule

Full time (40 hours per week), Monday–Friday, 08:00-17:00.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional care to patients in the outpatient setting in compliance with established practice standards.
  • Triage incoming patient calls, assess needs, and provide appropriate advice or direction based on scope of practice and licensure.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs, including assessing patient’s condition, taking histories, performing screenings, and administering vaccinations and medications.
  • Assist healthcare providers with procedures and examinations.
  • Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Ensure professional effectiveness through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining established policies, procedures, and objectives; quality improvement; safety; and infection prevention programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in Utah or a compact state.
  • Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and prevention of adverse reactions to medications/treatments.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, particularly in rapidly changing situations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with providers, co-workers, patients, and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team, with a high level of self-motivation.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, data entry, and electronic medical records.
  • Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. without assistance and lift/move weights beyond 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Reliable and punctual with work schedule.
  • Flexible and willing to accept additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an outpatient setting preferred (e.g., Family Practice, Surgical Center, GYN).
