Job Summary
The CT Technologist is responsible for conducting procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Identification: Utilize professional manners and methods to verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and assist patients and family members requiring extra attention. Ensure patient understanding and safety, and document pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age.
- CT Scans: Obtain images per established protocols, manipulate images accordingly, perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data, and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of CT algorithms. Select appropriate window and level settings based on anatomical requirements.
- Contrast Administration: Administer oral contrast to both adult and pediatric patients following protocols. Establish intravenous lines and safely administer IV contrast while confirming contrast eligibility and checking appropriate lab values before injection.
- Image Transfer: Maintain a thorough understanding of PACS, transmitting images to quality control and electronic medical records, ensuring accurate segmentation and verification of images at the quality control station. Complete, modify, or cancel orders in a timely manner while ensuring that all charge information is accurate.
- General Duties: Perform tasks efficiently and support the workflow by running the schedule. Volunteer for challenging tasks, provide quality diagnostic images, review patient charts for correlation, maintain a clean work environment, and document incidents for departmental improvement. Mentor new employees and students.
Qualifications
Required Education
- Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
Certifications & Licensure
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible. For registry eligible candidates, a copy of the diploma from an accredited program is required.
- Advanced certification in CT is required.
- Successful candidates must achieve registration within one year of employment and maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
- Current competency in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory for all imaging specialists.

Candidates should possess prior education, training, and experience that equips them to perform the assigned tasks effectively.
Schedule Notes
This position requires weekend overnight shifts, specifically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 PM to 6:30 AM.
