CT Technologist
We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures using CT equipment under general supervision. The ideal candidate will follow established protocols to ensure high-quality images for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanners and associated equipment to obtain diagnostic images according to departmental protocols.
- Prepare and position patients properly for exams, ensuring comfort and compliance with safety standards.
- Select appropriate imaging factors to capture the required anatomical areas.
- Explain procedures to patients, addressing their physical and emotional needs while maintaining ethical standards of patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues and other healthcare personnel.
- Calibrate and verify the operational status of imaging equipment; report any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
- Execute administrative tasks related to patient exams, including scheduling and managing Radiology Information System functions.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under the direction of a radiologist, adhering to departmental contrast administration policies.
- Engage in continuous education to maintain CEUs in accordance with state licensure and ARRT requirements.
- Assist in training and supervising radiography students and new staff as needed.
- Participate in departmental research, quality assurance, and improvement projects.
- Flexibly support staffing needs across multiple locations within the region.
- Safely transport and transfer patients following established protocols.
- Utilize sound judgment and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations during patient examinations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Current State Radiologic Technologist License and ARRT certification in CT.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with at least one year in CT preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients experiencing physical or emotional stress.
- Analytical abilities to understand imaging processes, techniques, and cross-sectional anatomy.
