Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Shift Information

Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Weekend schedule requirements will be determined by the facility.

Job Description

Under direct supervision, the Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the care, handling, and storage of instruments, supplies, and equipment required for surgical procedures. The technician will process goods for redistribution throughout the medical setting and assist Sterile Processing Specialists with various team lead duties, including maintaining competencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)
• Active HSPA certification for at least 2 years
• Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination required; declinations are not accepted and must be state-recorded
• Willingness to work according to the facility’s schedule without scheduling restrictions
• Prior travel experience is preferred

• GBMC cover page (available upon request)
• Resume, detailing any employment gaps longer than 30 days
• One supervisory reference from the past 6 months
• One supervisory reference from the past 12 months
• Skills Checklist specific to the Sterile Processing Technician discipline
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification

Additional Information

Successful candidates must be prepared to complete 48 hours of compliance training as a condition of employment. The start date for this position must align with the designation listed in the job order.
