Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in challenging situations. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 16
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Clinical Technicians: Two clinical techs available for 16 patients

• Stroke / Acute Ischemic Stroke
• Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH)
• Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH)
• Subdural Hematoma (SDH)
• Brain Tumors
• Cerebral Edema / Increased Intracranial Pressure (ICP)
• Hydrocephalus
• Acute Respiratory Failure
• Sepsis / Septic Shock
• Pneumonia
• Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Exacerbation
• Asthma Exacerbation
• Acute Heart Failure / Pulmonary Edema
• Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic State (HHS)
• Gastrointestinal Bleeding
• Acute Liver Failure
• Severe Electrolyte Abnormalities

Role Responsibilities

The Critical Care Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Administering and titrating medications and drips, including Norepinephrine and Epinephrine
• Performing patient assessments and monitoring vital signs
• Reading cardiac telemetry strips and identifying arrhythmias
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care
• Providing support and education to patients and families regarding care plans
• Direct involvement in emergency situations, with the ability to respond promptly

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to pass ECG exam on day 2 (pass/fail)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work evenings, with a shift schedule of 7 PM to 7 AM
