Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a supportive environment that caters to both adult and geriatric patients, focusing on Critical Care and Emergency Department settings.
Shift Details
- Night Shift: 19:00 – 07:30
- Schedule: 3×12-Hour shifts
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required
Time Off Policies
- Up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests are permitted per contract.
- Requests of 14 days or less will be auto-approved.
- Holidays: Every other winter and summer holiday are required; no time off approved during these periods.
- No time off on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience; RRT is preferred.
- CRT candidates with 5 years of experience may also be considered.
- Required experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings.
- All candidates must hold current ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Active Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure is required.
Experience Requirements
- Proficiency in airway management, including extubation, intubation assistance, suctioning, and tracheostomy care.
- Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomies.
- Knowledge of bronchoscopy support and sputum specimen collection.
- Ventilator management experience, including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, pressure-alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
- Expertise in chest physiotherapy and arterial blood gas collection and interpretation.
Equipment Experience
- BiPAP and CPAP systems.
- Mechanical ventilators and high-flow oxygen systems.
- Nebulizer and aerosol medication-delivery systems.
Charting System
Experience with Cerner is preferred.
Scrub Color
Charcoal/Dark Grey.
