Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, specifically within Stepdown and Telemetry units, while demonstrating the ability to adapt to the varying acuity of patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to Stepdown patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including interpreting telemetry and reading cardiac strips.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Assist with IV placement and management.
• Flexibly adjust nurse-to-patient ratios in emergency situations as needed.

Schedule Information

This position offers both 3×12 and 4×12 hour shifts, primarily during weekdays, with some weekend coverage required. Block schedules for weekend shifts may be considered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Minimum of 1.5 to 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry unit and 2 years in a Stepdown unit.
• Certifications required: BCLS, ACLS.
• Demonstrated ability to read cardiac telemetry strips.
• Strong clinical skills in IV placement.

Unit Information

The Stepdown unit treats patients requiring close monitoring and intervention, often having conditions that would be managed in a Progressive Care or Telemetry unit within larger facilities. Acuity levels may vary significantly, requiring strong assessment skills and adaptability.
