Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing critical care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions.

Shift Information

• Shift options: 3×12 or 4×12 days
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Some weekends are required
• Typical patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 in emergencies

Contract Details

• Start date: ASAP
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Possible extension: Yes

Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 to 2 years of nursing experience
• 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing
• 2 years of experience in Stepdown nursing
• Ability to read telemetry strips is required
• Required certifications: BCLS and ACLS

Skills Required

• IV start competency
• Telemetry monitoring experience

Unit Information

The Stepdown Unit (SDU) provides care for patients with varying acuity levels, some of whom may be classified as Progressive Care or Telemetry patients in larger facilities.

Additional Information

• Travel experience is not required
• Scrubs are not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs are required
• EMR system used: Cerner
