Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse (RN) for this opportunity. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Interventional Radiology at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Perform assessments, plan interventions, and evaluate patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, and state laws.
• Ensure all documentation is precise and comprehensive in accordance with established standards.
• Develop, initiate, and execute patient plans of care based on individualized needs as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy.
• Utilize resources for patient and family education, tailoring instruction to the appropriate level of understanding.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, covering shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units in support of the patient’s longitudinal care plan.
• Manage complex situations and utilize critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, appropriately delegating tasks.
• Engage in personal development and support continuous learning and growth, including the revision of evidence-based guidelines.
• Support and participate in peer review and feedback opportunities.
• Maintain timely patient flow and respond to phone calls, conducting telephone triage as required.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, including 1 year of critical care experience.
• Cardiovascular Intervention experience is required.

Certification and Licensure

• Active IL RN Licensure.
• Current certifications in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS), and National Institute Healthcare Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Successful completion of EKG test prior to the end of orientation.
