Radiology Technologist/Bone Density Technologist

Job Overview

The Radiology Technologist/Bone Density Technologist is responsible for performing bone densitometry procedures and ensuring the highest quality of imaging. This role involves patient interaction, equipment operation, and adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform bone density studies utilizing specialized imaging equipment.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
• Maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Accurately record and report findings to the appropriate medical staff.
• Follow established protocols and guidelines to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• Certification in Bone Densitometry from the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid state licensure and/or certification as required.
• Experience in a similar role is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Skills and Knowledge

• Proficient in operating radiographic equipment and performing bone density tests.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Knowledge of radiology safety practices and regulations.
