Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in our obstetrics department. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills to work in both the Labor and Delivery (L&D) and postpartum settings while also being capable of providing couplet care and supporting patients recovering from hysterectomies.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive antepartum, L&D, and postpartum care to patients.
• Deliver couplet care to mothers and newborns, ensuring a smooth transition for both.
• Care for patients undergoing hysterectomy procedures and maintain basic medical-surgical skills.
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions and ongoing education as required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Strong background in obstetric nursing, including antepartum, L&D, and postpartum care.
• Travel experience preferred to accommodate the current skill mix needs.
• Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN for fetal monitoring.
• Preferred certification: STABLE.

Working Conditions

The position requires flexibility in scheduling, with a minimum expectation to work at least one holiday. Contract length is negotiable, and scheduling preferences can be discussed during the interview process. The department includes 4 labor beds, 4 triage beds, and 13 obstetric beds, fostering a collaborative and patient-centered care environment.

Scrubs will be provided for all shifts. Candidates must be willing to comply with the 50-mile radius rule, but local applicants will be accommodated at a reduced rate.
