Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the operating room setting and will provide exceptional care to patients during surgical procedures.

Job Description

The OR RN will be responsible for managing patient care in the operating room, including pre-surgery, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). The role includes a variety of tasks, from ensuring patient safety to collaborating with surgical teams and assisting in various surgical specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room and PACU.
• Assist with pre-surgery assessments and prepare patients for surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and maintain clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in call rotation to ensure adequate coverage for surgical services.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification (AHA) is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room environment.
• Experience with various surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopedic, OB/GYN, urology, podiatry, and cardiology.
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies in the operating room.

Shift Details

This position offers day shifts with an 8-hour shift length, starting between 0545 and 0900, and ending between 1345 and 1700. The RN will be required to participate in a rotation for on-call duties, which includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Information

• The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
• Floating may be required to cover Pre-surgery and PACU areas as needed.
• Orientation for new hires is one week.
