Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our close-knit team. This position involves providing excellent care to patients during labor and delivery and postpartum periods. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Rotating

Unit Information

This position encompasses both Labor and Delivery and Postpartum care. The unit consists of:

• 2 Labor and Delivery rooms
• 2 Postpartum rooms
• 1 swing room
• 1 observation room

Approximately 30 deliveries are expected each month, with a total of 248 babies delivered last year.

Patient Care Ratios

• 1:1 ratio during labor
• Maximum of 3:1 ratio for postpartum care

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Certifications required: Stable, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), BLS Certification

Skills and Responsibilities

• Ability to chart using Paragon, Obix, and Epic systems
• Familiarity with the medication dispensing system, Med Pyxis
• Participation in cross-training between Labor and Delivery and Nursery departments
• Assistance with call lights if assigned to float during low census periods
