Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our Imaging Services team. This position involves performing a variety of imaging procedures with a focus on excellence and patient care.

Position Details

  • Unit: Imaging Services – CT/X-ray
  • Shift Length: 10 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Shift Notes: Weeknight shifts from 9 PM to 7 AM, Monday through Thursday

Key Responsibilities

The CT Technologist will be responsible for:

  • Performing CT and X-ray imaging procedures on patients, including ER, inpatient, and outpatient exams.
  • Administering contrast agents and starting IVs for CT examinations.
  • Utilizing imaging equipment, including 1 CT scanner, 2 X-ray rooms, 1 portable X-ray, 1 ultrasound, and 1 DEXA scanner.
  • Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality imaging services.
  • Maintaining high levels of professionalism and patient care during all interactions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience as a CT technologist is preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), Certified CT Technologist – ARRT (CT), Certified Radiologic Technologist – ARRT (R).
  • Experience in both CT and X-ray modalities is required; candidates should be comfortable working in both areas.
  • Ability to perform basic general scans and refer to a protocol book and doctor preferences.

Department Information

The Imaging Services department is equipped with:

  • 1 CT scanner
  • 2 X-ray rooms
  • 1 portable X-ray unit
  • 1 ultrasound unit
  • 1 DEXA scanner

Average studies performed daily include 5-10 CT scans, 8-10 ultrasounds, and 10-15 X-ray examinations.

Working Environment

Our department operates 24/7, and while there is a preference for specific scheduling, the lead tech will manage the schedule to balance the workload effectively. There is no on-call requirement, and staff may occasionally float between departments as needed. Orientation for new staff will include 1-3 days of department-specific training.

Additional Information
