Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical – Neuro. We are seeking qualified candidates with the following details:

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
• Certifications required: BCLS
• Preferred Certifications: NIH
• Shift: Night shifts (3×12 hours, 18:45 – 07:15)
• Ratios: 1:5-6
• Contract Length: 13-26 weeks accepted
• Blocked Scheduling: May be accommodated; please inquire during submission process
• Float Requirement: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: 12-16 weekend shifts per contract (flexible)
• Unit Orientation: 2 orientation shifts on the unit after hospital-based orientation
• Scrubs: Navy blue
• Patient Diagnoses: Neuro Surgical Procedures and Neuro diagnoses

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical – Neuro unit, you will be expected to:

• Provide high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing neurosurgical procedures and with neurological diagnoses.
• Implement and monitor treatment plans, ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed using unit systems including Pyxis and EPIC.
• Utilize communication tools like SBAR for effective handoffs and updates on patient status.

Additional Information

Contract staff will be expected to assist in storm or hurricane team responsibilities, including potential reporting to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Consolidation to a centralized office or reassignment to different units may occur as needed.

Please note that passing EKG testing is a requirement prior to the start for this specialty. Neuro experience is preferred.
