Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

The Cath Lab Registered Nurse plays a vital role as a key member of the patient care team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for patients. This position emphasizes a patient and family-focused approach in all interactions while striving to meet customer needs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other related procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions during procedures and in the peri-procedural area.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and aftercare.
• Ensure standards of safety and quality are maintained in all aspects of care.
• Utilize the Epic system for patient documentation and the Siemens Sensis system for hemodynamic measurements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab RN is preferred.
• Prior travel experience is considered a plus, though not mandatory.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required.

Work Schedule

Position offers flexible shift options including either 3 twelve-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts. There may be a requirement for weeknight, weekend, and holiday on-call responsibilities, though actual weekend or holiday shifts will not be scheduled.

Unit Description

The Cath Lab features seven modern procedure rooms and a hybrid operating room, with a dedicated 12-bay area for patient preparation and recovery. The lab handles an impressive volume of over 30 cases per day, ranging from outpatient right heart catheterizations and stable coronary angiograms to complex interventions in coronary, structural, and vascular cases.
