ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The role requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of continuous experience in a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and demonstrate proficiency in reading telemetry strips.

Unit Information:

• Unit Type: Level III Trauma Center Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Bed Count: 20 beds
• Patient Demographics: Adult patients with diagnoses including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock.
• Staffing: Attendings and Residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients in the MICU.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data accurately.
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as required, managing patient loads of 4 to 5 patients during such rotations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts RN License is required.
• Certification in AHA BLS and ACLS is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of continuous MICU experience required.
• Experience in adult Critical Care is essential.
• Telemetry competency is required.

Additional Information:

• Rotating shifts include all-day positions, with potential shift rotation between day and night as needed. Night shift does not rotate.
• The RN to Patient Ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Medical/Surgical areas.
