Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to assist with ongoing needs related to emergency department boarding. This role offers flexibility with scheduling options, including 3×12 day/night rotations or straight night shifts. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working during an active nursing strike.

Unit Description

The Medical-Surgical unit requires a traveler who can accommodate a rotating schedule, with shifts available for 4 weeks at a time. Orientation is planned for the week of December 14th, and candidates should be able to commit to every other holiday and weekend as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients.
• Assist with emergency department boarding needs and collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer appropriate therapies and medications.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health maintenance.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with established policies.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in a medical-surgical setting preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and needs.
