Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced 34-bed unit specializing in medical-surgical care with telemetry capabilities. The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
• Monitor and manage patient vitals, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans.
• Document patient information and care activities in the electronic medical record system (Cerner).
• Educate patients and their families on healthcare needs and procedures.
• Adhere to unit policies and procedures to maintain a safe and effective care environment.

Shift Information

Available shifts include 4×12 or 3×12 hour full-time day shifts. Weekend shifts are required as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical unit.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with verification.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and effectively manage multiple patient needs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Unit Information

The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-7, ensuring personalized care for each patient.
