Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This position includes a mix of scheduled shifts and on-call requirements, providing essential care to patients recovering from anesthesia.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PACU.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and recovery progress post-anesthesia.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in medical records.
• Respond to emergencies and administer appropriate interventions as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PACU setting.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are preferred.
• Ability to float within the facility, adhering to scope of practice.
• First-time travelers are accepted.

Work Schedule

This position involves a day shift of 4×9 hours, with expectations to be on-call, including a minimum of one day per week and every third weekend. Additional call requirements may arise based on staffing needs.

Holiday Requirements

Travelers are expected to work a specified number of major holidays during their assignment. If one major holiday occurs within the assignment period, the traveler must work it. If two major holidays arise, both must be worked, and if three major holidays fall within the assignment, two are mandatory.

  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

Compliance Requirements

Full compliance with all necessary requirements is required to ensure timely onboarding. Should compliance issues arise, a two-week pushback may be necessary due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Orientation hours may be non-billable based on the length of the contract assignment.
