Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/IMC/Tele

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg/IMC/Tele unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, focusing heavily on cardiac cases.

Job Details

• Unit: Stepdown
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Shift Schedule: 1900 to 0730, every other weekend and holiday. 36-hour options are available.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Assessing and monitoring patients’ conditions.
• Titrating medications and managing drips including insulin, heparin, nitro, diltiazem, and lasix.
• Collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
• Maintaining effective communication and teamwork within the unit.
• Providing education and support to patients and their families.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must have:

• Active RN license.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in Telemetry, Intermediate Care, or Stepdown nursing.
• Experience with cardiac patients and drips management.
• Current certifications in BLS (AHA) and NIHSS.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork and ethical practice.

Work Environment

This unit has 28 beds with average nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 during the day and evening shifts, and 1:6-7 during night shifts. Nurse Aides are available with a ratio of 1:9 days/evenings and 1:14 nights when fully staffed. The unit utilizes Continuous CPAP & BiPAP, high flow oxygen, and nebulization therapy.

Orientation

New team members will undergo a comprehensive orientation process, which includes 1 full day off the unit and 1 shift oriented on the unit to familiarize with protocols and procedures.
