Unit Information

• Unit: Medical Surgical
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Post-surgical care including abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and morbid obesity (bariatric surgery)
• Patient Demographics: Adults
• Specialty Equipment: IV pumps, N/G tubes, feeding tubes

Responsibilities

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for the following:

• Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Monitoring patients’ conditions, administering medications, and performing treatments as prescribed
• Documenting patient assessments and care plans in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Communicating effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and progress
• Adapting to various patient care settings as needed

Requirements

• Must have 2+ years of experience in medical-surgical nursing
• Travel experience is required
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active New York RN license and verification through NURSYS report
• Drivers license with address matching demographics

Work Schedule

The position requires a shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed, and floating to other units may be required.
