Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Description

Join our dynamic 65-Bed Emergency Department, featuring a pod-based layout that includes a dedicated pediatric pod and a separate Acute Mental Health area.

Position Overview

This role requires commitment to rotating shifts, including Day, Evening, and Night shifts, with occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and documentation.
• Administer intravenous therapy, phlebotomy, and perform EKG and cardiac monitoring.
• Utilize point of care testing and provide patient education.
• Implement splinting techniques and utilize critical thinking in patient care.
• Float to the ED Observation wing and Acute Mental Unit as needed.

Patient Population

This position serves a diverse patient population across all age groups, handling a high volume of approximately 230 visits per day.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience required.
• General ED nursing skills, including assessment, documentation, and patient education.
• Must possess AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically EPIC – ASAP, is advantageous.

Clinician to Patient Ratio

The clinician to patient ratio is set at 1:4, ensuring focused and comprehensive care for each patient.

Additional Information

This position includes free on-site parking and may require rotation between different shifts, particularly for Day Rotate options. Night positions do not require rotation.
