Respiratory Therapist

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients, particularly in critical care settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trauma care and proficiency in various therapeutic procedures and technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform extubation, nasal airway placements, and suctioning.
• Administer respiratory treatments including nebulizers, BiPAP, and CPAP therapy.
• Conduct pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection.
• Manage tracheostomy care and high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy.
• Troubleshoot high-pressure alarms and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Deliver medications via aerosol setups, metered dose inhalers, and other respiratory delivery systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in adult critical care settings.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in South Carolina.
• Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system for at least one year.
• Ability to float to other units or settings as required.

Patient Population

The patient population includes adults and geriatrics, requiring specialized respiratory care and support.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility with scheduling, including night shifts and weekend availability every other week.

Additional Information

All requests for time off or special scheduling must be included at the time of application and are subject to approval. The facility reserves the right to cancel one shift every two weeks.
