Respiratory Therapist

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience to provide exceptional care to our adult and geriatric patient population. The position requires proficiency in a variety of critical care procedures and the administration of respiratory therapies.

Shift Requirements

• Shift: Night 3×12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; subject to change based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy procedures including extubation, nasal airway placements, suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene.
• Administer medications such as albuterol, Atrovent, and inhaled steroids via nebulizers and aerosol setups.
• Provide care for patients with tracheostomies and perform sputum specimen collection.
• Utilize high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy effectively.
• Manage BiPAP and CPAP devices, troubleshoot mechanical ventilation alarms, and assist in weaning from ventilation.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RRT license.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
• Experience in a Trauma Level 1 facility is mandatory.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC charting system is required.

Additional Information

Applicants must be willing to float to other units as needed. Requests for time off should be included upon submission and will be accommodated only if approved at the time of booking. The facility reserves the right to call off one shift every two weeks.
