Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and the ability to work on the obstetric floor, providing couplet care and caring for patients post-hysterectomy.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum care for patients.
• Deliver couplet care, managing care for both the mother and newborn.
• Administer care for patients undergoing hysterectomy and provide basic medical-surgical support as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
• Experience with couplet care and caring for postpartum patients.
• Basic medical-surgical nursing skills.
• Required certifications include:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) for fetal monitoring
• Preferred certification: STABLE.

Shift Details

This position involves working 3×12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Flexibility with time off requests is available, however, the candidate must be willing to work at least one holiday.

Work Environment

The nursing unit includes 4 labor beds, 4 triage beds, and 13 obstetric beds. Strong teamwork and collaboration among staff are essential for success in this role.

Additional Information

Orientation will be provided bi-weekly. Scrubs will be supplied for all nursing staff.
