Interventional Radiologic Technologist
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiologic Technologist with a strong background in neuro and body procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of traveler experience in an inpatient hospital setting and demonstrate proficiency with Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform all interventional radiology procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, biopsies, drainages, and various vascular studies.
- Assist with genitourinary studies and venous access procedures.
- Maintain high standards of patient care while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Participate in daily case load management, with an expectation of handling 13-17 cases per day.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery through participation in training and hospital orientations.
Shifts and Call Requirements
The position involves first shift responsibilities with staggered start times between 0700 and 0830 for 4×10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. The traveler will rotate primary and backup call with other team members to ensure round-the-clock coverage. Primary call will occur approximately once every four weeks, with backup call involving an average of 7 days, including a weekend, every nine weeks. Weekend and evening on-call rotation is also a requirement.
Patient Demographics
The patient population primarily includes adults and geriatrics, with some adolescents. Candidates must have expertise in neuro procedures, including stroke intervention, as well as body procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience is required, with traveler experience preferred.
- Required Skills:
- Inpatient hospital experience and strong knowledge of PACS and contrast protocols.
- Experience with all interventional radiology procedures as outlined above.
- Familiarity with Siemens and Philips x-ray equipment is essential.
- Certifications: BLS and ARRT certification are required. ARRT Advanced Certification is preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Exposure to outpatient settings, operating rooms (OR), emergency rooms (ER), level I trauma, teaching hospitals, and community hospitals is advantageous.
Orientation and Scrubs
The first week of employment includes mandatory hospital orientation, and the traveler must be available for classes each day. Scrubs will be provided.
