Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care across various pediatric units, including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU, within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary experience and skills to handle a wide range of critical care situations in an adaptable and effective manner.

Shift Information

• Schedule: Night shifts, 3×12 hours (7 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Yes

Patient Ratios

• 1:2 or 1:3 patient-to-nurse ratios in critical care settings

Floating Requirements

The Registered Nurse will be required to float within the scope of practice to meet the needs of various pediatric units.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required.
• First-time float pool candidates will be considered if they possess the necessary experience.
• Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License required.
• Certifications: BLS and PALS (must be from the American Heart Association)
• Experience with ECMO and CRRT is preferred.

Additional Information

• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application; approval is dependent on unit requirements.
• Guaranteed hours: The facility may call off one shift every two weeks.
• Travelers should be aware of hurricane season (June to November), during which they may be assigned to emergency response teams.
