Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and experience in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a Level 1 trauma center setting.
• Manage and prioritize patient cases effectively in a busy ED, seeing approximately 350 patients daily.
• Conduct medical clearance for psychiatric patients before admission and utilize sitters for patients at risk of self-harm.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for stroke, STEMI, and trauma cases.
• Assist with the care of patients in non-acute areas of the ED.
• Float to offsite emergency departments as needed, including facilities in Fairfax City and Reston/Herndon.

Qualifications

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and CPI.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department, specifically in a Level I or II trauma center.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records is highly preferred.
• Must have the ability to take 1-2 on-call shifts per schedule.

Shift Expectations

• Shifts are available starting at 7 AM, 10 AM, and 11 AM.
