Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a challenging position in a dynamic emergency department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients experiencing medical emergencies and traumatic situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and triage patients based on their medical needs and condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring efficient and accurate delivery of care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize computerized charting systems for documentation and patient records.
• Provide compassionate and effective communication with patients and their families.
• Adhere to safety and quality control policies while delivering care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in an emergency room setting is required.
• Must be triage trained and possess Level 1 trauma experience.
• Valid Massachusetts nursing license is required.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Experience with electronic health record systems, specifically Epic, is necessary.
• Must be flexible with scheduling, including availability for 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Excessive time off requests, especially around holidays, will not be considered.

This position is within a newly designed, spacious emergency department featuring:

• 44 private treatment rooms across an expansive area.
• A dedicated imaging suite and a fast-track area for efficient patient processing.
• State-of-the-art facilities that include a behavioral health suite and family waiting areas.

Contract Details

This is a contract position with guaranteed hours of 72 per biweekly assignment. Note that these guaranteed hours do not include any additional time worked.
