Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

The Cath Lab Registered Nurse plays a vital role as part of the patient care team, collaborating effectively with colleagues to ensure the continuity of care for patients. This position emphasizes a philosophy of patient and family-focused care in all interactions with patients, families, and healthcare personnel, while striving to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.
• Utilize Epic as the primary charting system and manage hemodynamics using the Siemens Sensis system.
• Assist in preparing patients for procedures and monitor them post-procedure in the 12-bay peri-procedural space.
• Ensure adherence to protocols and safety standards during all procedures.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain clinical competence.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab RN.
• Previous traveler experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.

Scheduling

This position supports flexible scheduling options, including either 3 twelve-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts. Weeknight, weekend, and holiday call may be required during the contract period, but weekend or holiday shifts will not be part of the regular schedule. During a 13-week contract, it is expected that the RN may cover 1-2 weeknights and potentially 1 weekend, although weekend coverage is not guaranteed.

Unit Information

The Cath Lab features 7 modern procedure rooms and a hybrid OR, all upgraded within the last 1-5 years. The unit handles an average of over 30 cases per day, including a wide variety of procedures ranging from outpatient right heart catheterizations and stable coronary angiograms to complex coronary, structural, and vascular interventions.
