Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team at a busy Level 2 Trauma Center. This role requires a dedicated professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is capable of delivering high-quality care to patients with diverse and critical needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency room, effectively managing high acuity cases.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting any changes to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EPIC).
• Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
• Minimum two years of experience in emergency room nursing.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH certification (Pending certification acceptable).
• Proficient in utilizing EPIC electronic health records system.
• Compliance with vaccination requirements, including 2-step PPD and flu vaccine; no exemptions permitted.

Work Schedule

This position involves working night shifts, with a schedule of 3 shifts of 12 hours each (19:00 – 07:00). Weekend shifts may be assigned, with a possibility of working up to six weekends in a 6-week scheduling period. Night shift team members may work up to three Sundays during the scheduling period.

Additional Information

The emergency department comprises 54 beds and serves approximately 220 patients daily, making it a dynamic and critical environment. Candidates must be able to thrive under pressure and respond swiftly to the needs of patients and families.
