Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/MS Float Pool

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the IMC/PCU/MS Float Pool is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care across multiple units, including Intermediate Care (IMC), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Medical Surgical (MS) units. This position requires flexibility to float between these areas and undertake responsibilities as needed based on unit demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the IMC, PCU, and MS units.
• Observe and assess patients’ health status, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to different units, including ER Holding and occasionally support medicine/IMC level patients in the ED and ICU.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, protocols, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, including at least one travel assignment.
• Comprehensive understanding of IMC, PCU, MS, Telemetry, and Cardiac Telemetry nursing.
• Certification required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Successful completion of Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility with weekends and holidays based on hospital needs. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts from 06:45 to 18:45.

Patient Ratios

• Intermediate Care: 1 nurse to 4 patients.
• Medical Surgical/Telemetry: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients.

Additional Information

• Employees are required to receive the Flu vaccine.
• Scrubs are not provided; Caribbean Blue color is required.
• Nurses report to the staffing office for float assignments.
