Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatrics

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our pediatric unit. The role involves providing high-quality care to medical-surgical patients and those in hematology/oncology, specifically for ages 0-17.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage IV starts and lab draws.
• Provide care in a pediatric setting, adhering to best practices and protocols.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Operate within a self-scheduling framework, allowing flexibility in shift assignments.
• Float to PICU and NICU as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Travelers are welcome, provided they meet the experience requirement.
• BCLS and PALS certifications are required.
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and related certifications are preferred.
• Ability to manage RTO effectively, adhering to the established policy.

Schedule Details

• 36-hour work week, with 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 – 07:15.
• Availability for every other weekend is required.
• 7 days maximum for RTO in alignment with policy guidelines.

Unit Information

The pediatric unit utilizes PYXIS and EPIC systems to enhance efficiency and patient safety. A comprehensive orientation of 24 hours on unit procedures and a week of hospital orientation will be provided to ensure familiarity with protocols and workflows.

Dress Code

Scrubs are not provided; candidates are expected to wear appropriate attire, specifically fun kid tops and navy pants.
