Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Emergency Department

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care using the standards of care and the standards of professional performance outlined by the American Nurses Association and the Ohio Board of Nursing. The RN interacts with an interdisciplinary team to promote optimal health potential for patients and their families, delivering proficient nursing care based on a thorough assessment of patient and family needs while aligning with the hospital mission.

The RN fosters a patient- and family-centered environment and acts as a change agent to address the rapidly evolving needs of all customers, both internal and external.

Education and Certifications

• BSN Required
• Active and unrestricted RN License in Ohio
• CPR Certification
• PALS Certification

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in the Pediatric Emergency Department (ED).
• Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to address patient and family needs.
• Deliver care that promotes a positive patient and family experience.
• Float across all ED locations and inpatient units as required.
• Work in the Mental Health Crisis Center as part of the ED RN rotation.
• Follow cooperative staffing guidelines and float to Specialty Pediatric Units (Med/Surg), PICU, NICU, or Transitional Care Unit when necessary.
• Manage the care of 1-4 patients based on patient acuity and unit assignments.

Shift Information

Night shift: 5×8-hour shifts (23:00 – 07:00)
