Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our surgical services team. This role involves ensuring the proper sterilization and processing of surgical instruments and supplies, supporting the overall operation within the surgical services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization, disinfection, and packaging of surgical instruments according to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate records regarding the sterilization process and any instrument maintenance.
• Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure the availability of needed instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Participate in quality control procedures and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
• Assist with inventory management and control of sterilization materials and equipment.

Qualifications

• Certification from IAHCSMM or HSPA is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of acute hospital operating room experience.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are necessary to document processes and track instruments.

Schedule

This position involves a shift of 5 days, 8 hours per day from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Additional requirements include:

• One additional Saturday or holiday on-call per 6-week schedule.
• One Saturday per 6-week schedule with a shift time of 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
• Holiday coverage is only required if on-call.

Health Requirements

It is mandatory for all employees in this position to have the flu vaccine.
