Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join an outpatient clinic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong triage skills and outpatient clinic experience, with a focus on ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform triage and assess patient needs in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Administer medications via various routes including intramuscular (IM), subcutaneous (SQ), oral, and subcutaneously.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and health history.
• Conduct phlebotomy and IV therapy as required.
• Handle supervisory tasks such as communication of patient status changes to the RN or MD.
• Provide patient education, including clean catch urine instructions and pain assessment management.
• Utilize EPIC for documentation and patient management.
• Assist with special procedures such as catheter insertions for both female and male patients, and bladder scanning.
• Coordinate follow-up phone calls and manage medication refill requests.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of outpatient clinic experience required.
• Must have experience in triage.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory.
• Experience with genitourinary/renal procedures, including Foley catheter insertions and TURP patient care is required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with approximately 100 patient visits per day.
• Strong communication skills and ability to de-escalate patient situations as necessary.
• Preferred experience in oncology and surgical oncology procedures.

Work Schedule

• Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• Shifts: 8-hour days from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
• Float requirement: Must be able to float to other locations as needed, with prior notice.
• No weekend or call requirements.

Additional Information

• Must provide and use your own stethoscope.
• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrubs are required.
• Orientation includes 40 hours of clinic training following hospital training.
