Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional nursing care in a fast-paced environment, working primarily in a clinical decision unit and floating to the Emergency Department as needed.

Schedule and Shift

• Work Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: Choice of 36 or 48 hours per week

Patient Population

This position involves caring for adult and geriatric patients.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of experience in the specialty area required
• First-time travelers welcome if they meet experience criteria

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – Available through Qualivis

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and manage medication protocols
• Monitor and manage conditions including neurological, psychiatric, and respiratory issues
• Utilize electronic charting via Cerner
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning

Special Skills Preferred

• Experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Emergency Holding
• Knowledge of heparin protocols and management of cardiac drips
• Competence in respiratory therapies, including CPAP/BiPAP and ventilated patient care

Additional Information

• No on-call requirements
• Must float to various areas as needed
• Pending licenses accepted, provided an active compact RN license is obtained prior to start
