Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Rehabilitation

This role is for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Rehabilitation unit, specializing in care for patients with various medical conditions. The team consists of a physiatrist, a nurse practitioner, two therapists, and a social worker. Together, they work collaboratively to create and implement individualized care plans for each patient.

Unit Overview

• 24 Beds available.
• Patient diagnoses include cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputations, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases.
• Patients receive therapy services for approximately 3 hours a day, Monday through Friday.
• Average length of stay is around 2 weeks.

Shift Details

• 3 shifts of 12 hours, from 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Every other weekend is required.
• Floating may be required within the scope of practice to meet facility needs.

Orientation

• Orientation held every other week on Thursday.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in the rehabilitation specialty is preferred.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred, but first-time candidates are welcome.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Experience in acute care rehabilitation preferred.
• RN license in West Virginia or Compact RN license must be active upon starting.

Staffing & Patient Care

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5 during the day, 1:5-6 at night.
• No on-call requirement.
