Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) will provide nursing care to patients within a behavioral health setting. The position requires a blend of clinical expertise, empathy, and communication to ensure the best outcomes for patients facing mental health challenges.

Shift and Schedule

• 3×12 hour shifts: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Every Other Weekend (EOW) requirement
• Floating between units as needed
• Holidays may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care by assessing and monitoring patients’ physical and mental health needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and educate patients and families about these treatments.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure effective treatment plans.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to patients in distress following best practices in nonviolent crisis intervention.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina license or multi-state license for registered nurses.
• Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health experience.
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
• Recent experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
• Must reside more than 40 miles from the facility.
