Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse with expertise in stroke stepdown care for a dynamic healthcare environment. This role requires commitment to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to stroke stepdown patients.
• Manage patients with various conditions including altered mental status, renal issues, and pulmonary disorders.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes.
• Administer medications and perform clinical assessments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
• Participate in patient and family education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical setting, with specific experience in stroke stepdown care.
• Valid and active RN license in New York.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• NIHSS certification (can be obtained prior to start).
• Demonstrated travel experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.

Additional Information

This position operates on night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Floating to other units may be required based on patient needs. The unit consists of 64 beds and caters primarily to adult patients.
