Mammographic / DEXA Technologist

Shift Information

Day Shift: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Minimum Experience

3 years of relevant experience is required.

Certifications/Requirements

• General Certifications: BLS/BCLS
• Allied Health Certifications: ARRT(M)

Assignment Details

• Assignment Type: Travel / Contract
• Start Date: November 17, 2026
• End Date: February 26, 2027
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week during non-holiday weeks
• Call: No call required
• Holiday Schedule: Department is closed on designated holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography examinations in accordance with established standards and protocols.
• Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Ensure accurate patient positioning and image quality.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and imaging records.
• Follow applicable mammography quality assurance and quality control requirements.
• Assist with maintaining required FDA and ACR documentation when qualified and assigned.
• Work collaboratively with radiologists, providers, and other members of the Diagnostic Imaging team.
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Cross-train to perform DEXA examinations using the GE iDXA system.
• Follow all hospital, departmental, infection prevention, and patient safety policies.

Preferred Experience

• Experience using the Hologic Selenia Dimensions 3D Mammography system is strongly preferred.
• Experience with mammography QC/QA processes preferred.
• Experience maintaining FDA and ACR mammography records preferred.
• DEXA experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with GE iDXA is a plus.
• Previous travel assignment or rural hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current ARRT certification appropriate for mammography practice.
• Meets applicable MQSA requirements to perform mammography.
• Current BLS certification, if required by credentialing standards.
• Demonstrated mammography competency.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Diagnostic Imaging team.
• Strong attention to image quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and documentation.

Additional Information

This assignment is best suited for an experienced Mammography Technologist who can quickly integrate into the department and independently perform mammography examinations. Training will be provided to the traveler to perform DEXA examinations using the GE iDXA system.
